Welcome to A Checkered Past Greetings, my name is Cathy M. Aldrich and I make high quality antique reproduction game boards. I have been listed 6 times in Early American Life magazine’s Directory of the top 200 Crafts people in American, 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2004 through 2006. The price of boards vary depending on size, design, color complexity, and any additional moldings added to the interior surface; exterior moldings are standard. For example,a simple, small checkerboard is priced around $160.00, prices go up from there. Each board is made totally by hand; cut, planed, marked and painted in time honored fashion. Period appropriate materials are used in every board. The finish will fool all but the most knowledgeable eye and hand. Boards are signed and dated, a truly unique artwork for display or play.
